The role of the Medical Assistant (MA) is to provide extraordinary care to patients and customers through friendly, caring, courteous, and professional services and to ensure that our patients feel welcome and comfortable in our clinics. MA's have the opportunity to extend a warm and caring approach to our patients while respecting the diversity of all patients and providing exceptional patient care. The clinic environment is a fast-paced, environment that allows the development of close working relationships with physicians and clinical staff as well as returning patients. MA's are responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter. Every team member's role is vital to the clinic's success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Preparation of patients to be seen by physicians Collects vital signs and testing as required by the healthcare provider Assists provider with collection, documentation, processing, and verification of information related to patient care Keeps patients informed of wait times and manages visit expectations Performance of diagnostic tests and processing and entry of results Communicates patient concerns and needs to the healthcare provider Timely responses to patient inquiries and timely completion of assigned tasks Completes documentation of patient interactions Maintains cleanliness of exam rooms and medical implements before and after patient use Responsible to set up exam rooms and stock with needed supplies for patient care Facilitates timely closing of clinic and follows closing procedures Performs other duties as determined by the Practice Manager or Clinic Director

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Shift Details: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Daily schedule will fluctuate to accommodate 36 hrs/week. Must be able to flex schedule in accordance with patient and provider schedules.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires verifiable successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program Experience delivering exceptional customer service; one or more years of demonstrated customer service experience preferred Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in writing and via email Ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters Demonstrated computer skills with data entry software

High School degree or GED equivalent is required. Institutional accreditation and degree obtainment will be verified upon hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One or more years experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting

Successful completion of a Medical Assistant internship Medical Assistant certification One or more years experience using electronic medical records (EMR)

Bilingual in English and Spanish

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work up to a 12 hour shift Sit up to 6-8 hours a day Stand and walk up to 4-6 hours a day Speak and listen to internal and external customers Bend to reach supplies/materials, reach with hands and arms throughout the day Lifting, pushing, pulling Grasp and manipulate tools Key information into a computer workstation, use computer peripheral tools
