Unit Paramedic- The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital

Description: Intermountain Healthcare is at present recruited Unit Paramedic- The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital right now, this position will be placed in Utah. The Inpatient TOSH unit is the unit for patients that have had surgery in the operating rooms at TOSH (The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital) which is located on the south east side of the TOSH campus. Most of the patients on our unit have had knee, hip, back or shoulder surgery with occasional wrist, ankle and other orthopedic procedures. Currently there are nine operating rooms at TOSH.
The Paramedic will work under the supervision of the unit manager, nurse practitioner and RN. This position will respond to emergent events and assist in bedside care in an inpatient orthopedic setting. The Paramedic will assist in treatment and beside care to orthopedic inpatients and have the skills and knowledge to provide emergent and rapid response care as needed to adults, adolescents and geriatric patients.
Benefits Eligible: No Shift Details: This is a PRN, Variable shift position which required rotating weekends. (Variable shift includes Day/Night shifts).
Additional information: Prefers B/C Fire Department shift schedules
Minimum Requirements
Current Utah Paramedic Certificate
Currently working as a Paramedic in the community
Must be able to provide 25 paramedic CMEs per year at annual evaluation
This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn. For additional information regarding CPR requirements please visit our Job Requirements Page .
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
Carrying, hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing and walking
Preferred Qualifications
Six or more months paramedic experience
