Full-time opening for Utah licensed Nurse Practitioner to work on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at University of Utah Medical Center, directing the medical needs of patien! ts recovering from orthopedic surgery, cardiovascular procedures, disability patients, and general adult rehab patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The position will work under the supervision of the inpatient medical director and the PM&R inpatient physicians.
2. This will be a 4th service for the IP Rehab Unit and will typically work with patients requiring rehabilitation services other than stroke, spinal cord and traumatic brain injury.
3. This position will assist when necessary with the sub-specialty services above when resident coverage is limited.
4. This position work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including case managers, therapists, nurses, PM&R residents, social worker, etc.
5. Electronic medical records are utilized.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah. Na! tionally certified as a Nurse Practitioner as required under S! tate Law. Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria. Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge of specialty area; and demonstrated leadership, teaching, research and communication skills are required.
Licensure is obtained by completing a Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalency (the only equivalency to the Master’s degree is current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner) and a National Certification which requires the successful completion of a nationally accredited examination. UHPPM 1-56 requires that newly hired non-physician providers apply for credentialing and privileging at the time of hire.
