Open to all US citizens, no Federal experience required. VA Salt Lake City Health Care System is recruiting for a full time physiatrist to join general rehabilitation practice. Incumbent must be BC/BE in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Physician will be responsible for the overall activities of PM&R including clinical duties in the inpatient and outpatient arenas. Particular interest in Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders is desirable. Other duties include teaching of medical students and residents. Research opportunities available. Applicants must qualify for academic appointment at University of Utah School of Medicine.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. citizenship.
Education. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are:
(1) Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.
(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted.
(3) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted license.
(4) For residents, graduation from an approved medical school as described above! is required. Residency training in PM&R completed or to be completed b! y July 1, 2013.
Licensure and Registration. Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Must be board-certified or board eligible in medicine or surgery. If board-eligible, must become board certified within one year of being hired.
English Language Proficiency. Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
Completion of a residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the time of appointment.
GRADE DETERMINATIONS:
In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must have demonstrated recognized professional attainment such as:
(1) Past or present faculty appointment in an approved medical school or
(2) Completion of an accredited residency in the sp! ecialty area to which the individual is being assigned or in a related area, or
(3) Current eligibility to sit for the board certification examination in the specialty area to which the individual is being assigned or in a related area, or
(4) Comparable achievements in clinical, educational, administrative or research activities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
