The Job description is as follows:
The Medical Staff Services Credentialing Coordinator will process initial credentialing applications and manage candidates through the credentialing process accordingly.

The Medical Staff Services Credentialing Coordinator’s responsibilities include:

  • Reviews medical staff application materials for completeness, consistency and accuracy
  • Coordinates with locum recruiters and candidates to obtain required documentation prior to the start of an assignment (or before reappointment date expires)
  • Researches and selects which verifications should be obtained
  • Tracks requests sent to CompHealth Credentialing â€" a NCQA approved Credentials Verification Organiza! tion (CVO)
  • Reviews verifications obtained by the CVO such as AMA/AOA profiles, various medical license verifications, OIG, NPDB and FSMB reports
  • Solicits verifications not obtained by the CVO such as hospitals, graduate medical education programs and references
  • Prepares information for the Medical Staff Services Director or Quality Improvement Risk Manager review, making recommendations for approval as appropriate
  • Maintains verified credentialing data and applicant approval status in computer database
  • Interfaces with operational leaders to ensure recruiters and other sales staff are briefed on the status and outcome of provider applications
  • Assisting in the efforts necessary to ensure compliance with all credentialing standards and approval recommendations and/or restrictions
  • Provides direct support when necessary to the Director of Medical Staff Services and completes other duties as assigned
Nece! ssary Background:
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Wo! rd, Excel, web-based applications, internet, and database programs
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Proven time management skills focusing on urgent and overlapping deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail and proven accuracy with record keeping
  • Demonstrated researching and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, directing work flow to appropriate departments
  • Familiarity with NCQA and JCAHO credentialing standards
  • High level of customer service
