The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Clinical Nurse. Offi! ces and clinics are located in the Utah Diabetes Center in Research Park.

DUTIES
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Phone management with patients' parents
- Chart review, triage and problem management
- Education/training of parents in management of new medications and delivery systems for medication
- Assist with obtaining prior authorization for testing and medications as needed
- Assist with scheduling of endocrine specific testing
- Liaison with other services providing education and support for the care of
- May assist with drug study patients
- Communicating lab and test results to families
- Assist with medication refills
- Communicating adjustments or changes in treatment plans to famil! ies
- Addressing patient issues and concerns with patie! nt's parents over the phone
- Using a computerized message log system to communicate parent/patient issues and concerns to the physicians and practitioners caring for the patients
- May supervise and delegate some tasks to non-licensed department staff as appropriate
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah or equivalency required. *If licensed in a compact state a Utah State license must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Two years pediatric medical/surgical experience or equivalent.
- Ability to multitask and work independently; calculate medication dosages; and use a computerized message log system and/or phone to communicate issues and concerns to physicians and practitioners caring for the patients.
- Experience in providing telephone care.
- Bachelor of science preferred
