Senior Technical Manufacturing Supervisor to support the Cardiac Surgery Systems (CSS) business unit’s operations. This person supervises employees and manufacturing activities pertaining to the production of products and/or manufacturing processes in one or more production areas. Works on intermediate to complex and diverse production issues which require an application of engineering skills, analysis and approaches.
Responsibilities:
Ensure effective! employee relations.
Provide employee coaching and de! velopment.
Makes employment decisions.
Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
Manage, evaluate, and provide feedback on employee performance
Implement and may lead Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to include: Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Assembly Line Optimization, and Mistake Proofing
Support prototyping activities of new product development
Supervise the transfer of new products into the work area, as well as product transfers out to other manufacturing locations
Monitor production performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports and manufacturing metrics to manager and cross-functional stakeholders
Document manufacturing work instructions
Manage production schedules, labor and material variances, and temporary resources
Supervise employee attendance and approves employee time-keeping
Monitor produc! tion quality and lead or supports corrective action measures.
Work with Quality Assurance and Engineering to address production non-conformances
Ensure production procedures are followed
Ensure full compliance with quality systems and regulations (i.e., FDA, OSHA)
Ensure a safe work environment and supports ergonomic production processes
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related scientific discipline required. A minimum of four years experience in a manufacturing, quality or product development engineering combined with prior supervisory or project team management experience.
Required Skills:
Previous experience in the medical device industry or other highly regulated industry is preferred
Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts and/or applying Six Sigma principles within a manufacturing environment preferred
Requires the ability to lead people at var! ious levels within the department and to get results through others
Must be a strong team player and possess strong collaboration skills in partnering for results with cross functional stakeholders
Requires attention to detail and the ability to support big picture, strategic efforts.
Requires the ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
Requires excellent communication skills (written and verbal), strong project management skills, and the ability to execute job duties with minimal supervision
Knowledge of computer applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a must
Must be able to work within clean room and/or machining operations environments
