Job Description
We are seeking an experienced veterinary technician to join our busy practice. The ideal candidate with have at least 6 months experience in the profession, or alternatively, have graduate d with a technical degree in the field. We offer compensation based on experience, quarterly bonus opportunity, benefits for full time staff, and more!
Our clinic is open 7 days a week. All employees operate on a rotating schedule that includes Saturdays and Sundays. Although there is flexibility in scheduling, you must be able to work some weekends. Although we are closed on holidays, we do limited boarding, and you may be required to provide holiday care for any boarding animals on a rotating basis.
As needed, we require that employees are cross-trained in all roles. As a growing practice, we expect employees to be willing and able to assist where needed.
Job Duties (included but not limited to):
Technical:
Obtain patient history and vitals
Perform venipuncture and place iv catheters
Intubation and anesthetic monitoring during procedures
TPR, history intake, administering vaccines
Patient restraint Perform radio graphs
Prepare medications and instructions for discharge
Patient care including diagnostics and treatments
Assisting with surgery: blood draws, i.v. catheter placement, patient prep, intubation, anesthesia administration and monitoring, running blood work, following surgical and anesthetic protocols, postoperative patient care, etc
Customer Service:
Reviewing and explaining services, care instructions, etc. to clients/owners
Reviewing treatment plan with clients/owners
Answer phones, make appointments, take messages
Admitting patients for appointments and hospitalization
Prepare estimates, collecting payments, preparing receipts
Preparing files for following day, obtaining lab reports
Qualifications (included but not limited to):
6 months experience or technical training
Familiarity with radiographic laboratory equipment
Ability to restrain and administer treatment and medications to patient s
Good telephone and interpersonal skills
Flexibility, sense of humor, ability to contribute to the entire team's work
Attention to details Able and excited to learn new skills
Able and willing to assist where needed
Desire to help grow practice
