Title: PRSD LIbrary Media AideGrades: K-6Reports to: Principal/Asst. PrincipalEmployment: Clerical Bargaining unit, 195 days, 7 hours per dayEssential duties and responsibilities: Management of school library services: Perform circulation tasks, check materials out and in using software system.Help students locate and retrieve books and use resources.Maintain technology in the library.Coordinate with teachers on supplementing curriculum themes/read alouds.Supervise and maintain organization of the library space(s).Supervise Students when Staff is unavailable.Maintain and perform basic repairs on all materials.Check lists and bibliographies to determine availability of materials.Organize books for easy accessibility.Supervise students utilizing the library, including basic library based lessons Propose cross-curriculum lessons aligned with the School Improvement Plan..Perform annual end-of-year inventory of all books and equipmentMaintenance of books and discarding non-relevant materials.Repairs to books/materials.Process new or donated materials.Support building technologyAssist with school based presentation prep and break down.Basic tech support to teachers if needed or help submit IT work order.Assist with copiers/printers or notify Administrative Assistant if a work order is needed.Assist with main office coverage as assigned by administration.Assistant with copying and preparation of materials for teachersMaintain the same level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of all teachers and administratorsParticipate in staff development programs as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or supervising administrator.
