JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Transportation Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Transportation Manager
WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Transportation Manager, Transportation Specialists, Sales and Service Staff for all 21st Century Equipment locations.
JOB SUMMARY: Will assist the Transportation Manager in day-to-day operations. This includes dispatching, making purchase orders, ordering permits, setting up custom hauls and billing. The Transportation Coordinator will fill in for Transportation Specialist when needed. The Transportation Coordinator will assist the Transportation Manager in safety and DOT compliance for all Transportation Specialist. Responsible for training new Transportation Specialist.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (listed in order of importance):
- Report daily to the Transportation Manager for assignments.
- Assist in day-to-day operations for the Trucking Division.
- Assist in maintaining all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA and company policy for all Transportation Specialist.
- Train new Transportation Specialists and assist Transportation Manager with spot checks.
- Fill in for Transportation Specialists when needed.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 1+ years' experience as semi-trailer truck operator.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
SPECIAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- CDL License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 75lbs regularly.
- Must be able to work in harsh weather conditions from extreme heat to winter blizzard conditions.
- Must be able to mount, dismount and secure equipment to trailer in all weather conditions in a safe and secure manner.
