Description: Intermountain Home Care is currently seeking to employ Registered Nurse - Thoracic Intensive Care right now, this vacancy will be placed in Utah. Thoracic ICU at Intermountain Medical Center's focuses on post operative critical care of patients undergoing the following surgical procedures: Corona! ry artery bypass grafts, heart valves, heart transplants, mechanical circulatory support devices, vascular surgeries, thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies. The Cardiovascular surgery operating room suites are directly adjacent to this unit.

The interdisciplinary care team includes: Registered Nurses, intensivists, CV surgeons, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, care managers, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, critical care techs and health unit coordinators.

The Thoracic ICU, will provide extraordinary opportunities to experience growth, learning, and professionalism, supported by Intermountain Healthcare's philosophy of nursing - CARING. This supports the professional nurse in a safe, nurturing and supportive atmosphere dedicated to providing extraordinary care to patients in our high acuity Intensive Care Units.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, pl! anning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The RN p! rovides the best clinical practice in an environment of caring and healing. The RN has the opportunity to care for a broad spectrum of diagnoses which enables them to sharpen their assessment skills, gain a vast knowledge base, and improve critical thinking skills while caring for patients. Utilizing the nursing process, care is delivered in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, legal and regulatory standards. The RN impacts patients' lives every day and truly makes a difference to those they care for.

Shift Details: Variable shifts, rotating weekends

Minimum Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in state of practice

This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn. For additional information regarding CPR requirements please visit our Job Requirements Page .
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Basic computer skills

One year RN work experience in a hospital setting

Physical Requirements

Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pushing/Pulling, Seeing, Speaking, Standing, Walking.
