The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides extraordinary care and treatment to patients in the cardiology clinical setting. The responsibilities of the! NP include: Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ health care condition and needs. Services provided by the Cardiology NP may include device interrogation/programming, stress tests, and other advanced diagnostic and therapeutic functions related to cardiac patients. This professional works in collaboration with cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons and other interdisciplinary providers to develop a plan and goals for patient to ensure the best possible outcome.
Entry Rate: Based on experience

Shift Details: Four 10 hour days, rotating on-call obligation approximately 5 days per month, 1 week of in-patient responsibilities every 7-8 weeks
Department: Heart Failure and Transplant, IMC
Additional Details: Must have either 2 years of cardiology/heart failure experience, or 2 years Nurse Practitioner experience
Minimum Requirements
Current state license as a Nurse Practitioner
! Eligible for state Controlled Substance License II through V
Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V
This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn. For additional information regarding CPR requirements please visit our Job Requirements Page .
Other certification as required (e.g. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP))

Preferred Qualifications
Applicable experience as defined by position leadership
Applicable certification from a recognized certifying organization such as American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
Master'! s degree or higher
Either 2 years of cardiology/heart failure experience, or 2 years Nurse Practitioner experience
