The Central Processing Coordinator is responsible to ensure all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated, asse! mbled, inspected, packaged, sterilized and distributed. Acts as a resource for Surgical Services and other departments within the hospital that have sterilization needs and ensures that policies and procedures are followed. Accountable to keep staffing adequate, productive and assigned to applicable tasks throughout department on a daily basis. Also coordinates with manager, educator, and other coordinators to ensure proper staff utilization.
Job Essentials:
1. As needed, acts as a back-up for Manager, Supervisor, other Coordinators, or staff.
2. Oversees inventory control and supervises instrument care.
3. Coordinates flow of supplies between Central Processing and other areas of the hospital.
4. Supervises sterilization records / reports.
5. Provides training and education to new CP Techs.
6. Manage employees including employee scheduling, workflow, and day-to-day duties.
7. Acts as working lead for CP Techs and able to work in ! every area of the department.
8. Solves problems within ar! ea or responsibility.
9. Oversees supplies, case-cart, sterilization, patient equipment, etc.
10. Coordinate Surgery Schedule with resources available in CP.
11. Could coordinate Quality Education, In-service meetings, etc.
12. Function independently without close supervision.
Full time, 40 hours per week - Monday-Friday 2:00 pm - 10:30pm
Starting salary: $15.63/hour - benefits eligible.
Minimum Requirements
Current Central Processing (CP) Certification.
Two or more years of applicable work experience in Central Processing as a certified CP Tech
Experience with email, internet, and equipment tracking and inventory software
Physical Requirements
On your feet for entire shift including walking
Able to work standing
Must be able to bend, twist, push, pull, squat, kneel
Able to carry and lift up to 50 pounds without special equipment or assistance of ! others

Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the ability to receive and give constructive feedback
Excellent written communication skills (in English), being concise by phone, intercom and in person
Self-motivated, able to work independently with little or no supervision
