The Office Coordinator, under the direction of the Operating Room (OR) Manager a! nd department leadership, supervises the day-to-day office functions of the OR at Primary Children's Hospital. The incumbent will supervise a team of 3 to 4 individuals, including the hiring and selection process, orientation and training, performance management including addressing minor corrective action, scheduling, and provides backup as necessary to carry out daily operations.

Team is r esponsible for scheduling of surgical procedures, entering patient charges and case histories into the computer, runs reports, patient registration, office reception, and general clerical support.

Schedules surgical procedures and inputs into the surgery scheduling system.

Organizes and manages office area by ordering and maintaining supplies. Files and manages records.

Monitors surgery schedule to avoid overbooking problems, and suggests alternatives to physicians and/or offices. Notifies manager of schedules conflicts when necessary.

Answer! s phone calls serving as the information link between physicia! n, patient, and ancillary departments.

Collects & inputs data, runs reports, and distributes information as needed.

Reviews registration information to see what additional information is required, gathers additional information as needed, organizes and inputs data appropriately.

Data and charge entry.

Verification of physician privileges.

Compiles and prepares data in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. Responsible to ensure staff trained and held accountable for accurate scheduling. \

Effectively role models interpersonal skills and problem solving skills to aid in the resolution of issues in a timely manner. Role models positive, efficient customer service.

Functions as back up, as needed, for charge posting, payroll entry, reception, or other office functions, promoting positive, efficient and effective customer service.

Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives (i.e. CQI, TQM, Le! an, 100% participation, etc.)

Entry Rate: $ 15.41
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Shift Details: Full-time position working 40 hours per week. Scheduled to work 4 ten hour shifts. This is a day shift position.
Department: Primary Children's Medical Center Operating Room
Additional Details: Coordinator/Lead position

Minimum Requirements

3 years of direct supervisory experience and 4 years of experience in a medical office (clinical) setting required

Strong computer skills required. Proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheet and advanced computer applications (i.e. database and/or presentations)

Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal relations skills required. Demonstrated leadership, personal and professional ethics and an ability to inspire and motivate others required. Previous experience developing relationships with physicians are required.
