The Cardiac Surgical Systems Supervisor will manage all aspects of manufacturing for multiple lines on second shift, with direct su! pervision of up to 30 employees. Product lines will include the Poly â€" A, Femoral, and Packaging.
Responsibilities will include effective planning, organization, and supervision of the manufacturing process to maximize productivity. This position will assist in setting department goals/expectations and will provide performance feedback to employees.
Will work closely with Quality Assurance and Engineering to monitor department quality and support corrective actions. Will champion change management throughout the manufacturing process and will drive the incorporation of technical advancements. Short term emphasis would be to stabilize a new / growing workforce, with long term emphasis on lean principles and 5S.
Other functions and responsibilities include:
Plan and execute overtime to eliminate backorders and meet inventory targets.
Conduct department training to ensure compliance to procedure updates.
Lead meetings w! ith all direct reports and support groups in a professional ma! nner.
Provide a safe work area
Ensure compliance to regulations (FDA, OSHA, etc.)
Ensure that area spending and use of supplies is within budgeted amounts
Qualifications
Experience / Education / Special Requirements :
A minimum of two years experience required, preferably in a Medical Device Manufacturing environment. Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts for manufacturing medical products is preferred.
A bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is required for the Technical Supervisor position.
Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment are key. Must be capable of working with minimal supervision. Results orientation, accountability, and project ownership are essential. Prefer strong hands-on skills with proven ability to apply technical knowledge and judgment to solve problems and lead small project teams.
Must have strong verbal and wri! tten communication skills, and be able to communicate concisely through email regarding shift performance. Must be proficient with a variety of software packages, including MS Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Must possess strong capabilities in managing, coaching and training talent. Ability to adapt to changing requirements is essential.
Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs., be on feet and mobile for 6 to 10 hours a day, move throughout the facility to accomplish required tasks, visually prepare and analyze data, work at a computer, review small defects in products/components, work indoors for the entire work day, work around moving mechanical systems, work in the vicinity of the following chemicals: THF, Cyclohexanone, MEK, Alcohol, and Heptane.
