The role of the Centralized Scheduler is to provide exceptional service to patients and c!   ustomers while providing outstanding support to physicians and healthcare providers. The Centralized Scheduler ensures that procedures and tests are scheduled accurately and efficiently. Centralized Schedulers are responsible for ensuring the smooth operations in the fast paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter. 
 Key Responsibilities 
Schedules patient procedures including surgery, MRI/CT, EMG/Nerve Conduction Studies and other procedures as required 
Coordinates with patients, providers, facilities and insurance companies to facilitate smooth scheduling process 
Timely responses to patient inquiries and timely completion of assigned tasks 
Answers telephones, forwards telephone messages and under the direction of licensed staff schedules appointments, procedures and diagnostic tests 
 Assists in routine clerical functions such as filing of medical information in patient's records, locati!   ng and preparing department charts, managing dictation notes, !   obtaining medical records from other providers and entering charges for billing purposes 
May assist with front and back office duties as assigned simultaneously 
Completes assigned training and education 
Performs other duties as determined by the Practice Manager or Clinic Director 
 Minimum Requirements:
 Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in writing and via email 
Ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters 
Demonstrated computer skills with data entry software 
Must be able to flex schedule in accordance with patient and provider schedules 
 High School diploma or GED equivalent is required 
Institutional accreditation and degree obtainment will be verified upon hire 
 Preferred Qualifications:
 One or more years of demonstrated customer service or scheduling experience 
One or more years experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting 
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology 
Experience working with NextGen computer software 
 Bilingual in English and Spanish 
 Physical Requirements:
 Work up to a 12 hour shift 
Sit up to 6-8 hours a day 
Stand and walk up to 4-6 hours a day 
Speak and listen to internal and external customers 
Bend to reach supplies/materials, reach with hands and arms throughout the day 
Lifting, pushing, pulling 
Grasp and manipulate tools 
Key information into a computer workstation, use computer peripheral tools
