DUTIES:
The incumbent serves a s a primary care physician working at a Community Based Outpatient Clinic providing a full range of primary care provider services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the VA mission.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
a.
Citizenship.
Citizen of the United States.
(Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).
b.
Education.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secret! ary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Approved schools are:
(1) Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.
(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted.
(3) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted license.
(4) For residents, graduation from an approved medical school as described above is required.
c.
Licensure and Registration.
Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
M! ust be board-certified or board eligible in medicine or surgery.
If board-eligible, must become board certified within one year of being hired.
d.
English Language Proficiency.
Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
e.
Physical Standards.
Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
Salary is commensurate with Education and Experience.

Subject to probationary period of two (2) years.

As part of the VA's pre-appointment process, it is necessary for you to submit complete information concerning your professional educatio! n, training, experience, licensure, certification or registration using! Vet-Pro. Vet-Pro credentialing must be successfully completed prior to entering on duty.
