Technical Manufacturing Supervisor to support multiple product lines for the Cardiac Surgery Systems ! (CSS) business unit in our Draper, UT facility.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of manufacturing for multiple product lines, with direct supervision of up to 40 employees.
Responsibilities will include effective planning, organization, control and supervision of the manufacturing process and for the maximization of manufacturing productivity. Also setting department goals/expectations and providing performance feedback to employees.
Will work closely with Quality Assurance and Engineering to monitor department quality and support corrective actions. Will champion change management throughout the manufacturing process and will drive the incorporation of technical advancements. Short term emphasis would be on preparing for aggressive growth, long term emphasis on lean implementation and 5S.
Other functions and responsibilities include:
Conduct department training to ensure compliance to training re! quirements
Ensure proper staffing levels, address per! formance issues and rehire as necessary
Set department goals/expectations and provide performance feedback to employees
Provide a safe work area
Ensure compliance to regulations (FDA, OSHA, etc.)
Drive incorporation of technical advancements into manufacturing process and technology employed in the manufacture of both existing and new products
Manage complex manufacturing process design, development and validation efforts
Plan and execute overtime accordingly to eliminate backorders and meet inventory targets
Coordinate calibration to minimize production downtime
Qualifications
A minimum of three years experience in engineering and/or technical supervision in a Medical Device Manufacturing environment is preferred for the Technical Supervisor position. Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
Att! ention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment is key. Strong project management skills a must. Results orientation, accountability, and project ownership are essential. Prefer strong hands-on skills with proven ability to apply technical knowledge and judgment to complex technical problems along with leading small project teams.
Requires excellent communication skills (written and spoken), and possess strong capabilities in managing, coaching and training talent. Ability to adapt to changing requirements is essential.
