Job Description:
Basic Job Functions
Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Senior Product Manager is responsible for upstream and downstream marketing activities for the assigned product lines. The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for implementing marketing campaigns, in order to reach sales objectives. The position requires healthcare knowledge, particularly of the spine and/or orthopedic market, and the ability to work with surgeons to understand opportunities and find innovative solutions for the broader market. The SPM will work closely with sales, product development and other team members to accomplish sales goals and is required to communicate with all areas of the company.
Responsibilities
Lead, develop and coach Product/Associate Product Managers in the creation and execution of leading-edge business and marketing strategies and tac! tics
Lead the marketing development effort to bring new products from concept through commercialization including market exit
Manage surgeon design teams
Analyze, select and champion the value proposition and focused strategy for products offered by Amedica.
Analyze and prioritize market needs, industry trends, and customer requests for assigned product areas
Define product objectives, target customers, revenue models, and business goals
Develop business cases for pursuing product offerings including market motivators, product positioning, and key benefits
Define and implement all aspects of the assigned product(s) life cycle strategy
Develop product launch plans, including sales support and training materials
Define market requirements for new product development and existing product enhancements and establish product launch plans based on market research and internal resources
Define commercialization activities required for assigne! d product areas to ensure readiness for sale and use including registra! tion, reimbursement, labeling, legal and safety requirements, storage, logistics, technical content of databases and web, quality control, and after sales support preparation
Work across multiple internal and external groups such as design, packaging and labeling, regulatory claims, surgical technique generation, advertising, sales force education, etc
Maintain high level of product knowledge by staying current in published information, regional market contacts, surgeon interaction, and industry educational meetings
Consistently use knowledge of existing products, new developments and market needs to formulate strategic and creative marketing plans
Provide guidance and oversight to teams in the development of strategic recommendations and direction.
Possess extensive knowledge of the medical device industry and its competitors
Clearly communicate marketing strategies to all levels within the organization
Identify and evaluate consumer needs and m! arket trends, and analyzes current business activities through all possible sources of data and recommends business opportunities at strategic and tactical levels.
Respond to questions from customers â€" internal and external â€" in a timely manner

Education/Training Required
Requires a B! achelor’s degree or equivalent in natural sciences, concentration in ! Marketing is a plus, MBA preferred.
Experience Required
Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience in product management role. Spine industry experience is a must.
